Create an action with percentage values ?

Hello,

I'm used to place a ruler at 50% vertical and a second one at 50% horizontal to have the perfect center of my image, however when I create the action with this value in percentage, it's not reusable on another pic of different size, because the percentage value is automatically translated in pixels during the recording of my action.

Thanks in advance for your help,

Olivier

Change your Ruler Units to Percent before recording the action so the values are recorded as percent.

Right click on the Ruler to change or change the Ruler Units in the photoshop Preferences>Units & Rulers

It's an older version of Photoshop isn't it?

Before recording the action, change the standard unit from pixel to percent in menu Edit > Preferences .

This done the action records 50%.

Then you can set back the unit to pixel as before.

In the newest Photoshop CC version the action writes pixel but applies %.

    Hi

Try setting the ruler to % before recording the action as in this tutorial, you can then change it back to Pixels after the action is recorded
