Question

Cropping Tool - CS6

Is there a way to input your cropping measurements / aspects, and have them stay in place until you change them ?

In other words, it seems that every time I open a new picture, or application of Photoshop and I reach for the Crop Tool, it has reset itself to - Unconstrained, then I have to go and select or input what I want ( which is always the same thing ).

I would like to type in the measurements I want, and have that stay there as the default until I input something different ?

Why does this not seem possible ?

This is certainly the way it worked in CS5, or until Adobe "Improved" it.

Thanks for any and all help,

Sterne

Mine isn't doing that. It moves to custom, and stays there, even after restarting. Since yours is, how about saving it as a preset? Then it will always be available:

    Thank you BarbBinder,

I don't even show the "Custom" option on my menu, just the other two up top.  I have saved what I would like ( 12 x 8 ) as a preset, but then - as I say - I am always reaching for the crop tool, and it will be back to - Unconstrained.

Having recently moved to a new computer, new version of Photoshop, new OS - Windows 10, it is alot to get used to and not sure what or who is to blame for issues / problems I have. Me most likely.

    Well, CS6 isn't supported on Win10:

That said, is CS6 all patched up? The latest version is 13.0.6:
