Thank you much Jeff. It seems like the last PS update fixed the problem... Now if the Adobe Creative Cloud does not ask me to repair it every day, I'll be completely happy.

From which Adobe application are you trying to save files?

Where does the JPG reside -- primary hard drive, Creative Cloud Storage, DropBox, etc...?

Which operating system do you have?

I use PS and Bridge. My JPGs reside on my local hard drives in folders that are eventually backed up in Dropbox. The JPGs are to be saved after cleanup on the same drive. (replace) I use Windows 11 Pro (always the last update). It was never a problem before. Open my jpg, clean it up, and save/return the JPG cleaned to bridge. Now, it works if I only change the contrast and such but if I crop it will not do what it should. It will force me to pick a format I don't want. So I have to export/replace/close/and switch manually back to Bridge. Please let me know if you have any other questions, and thank you for helping me.

in the future, to find the best place to post your message, use the list here, https://community.adobe.com/

p.s. i don't think the adobe website, and forums in particular, are easy to navigate, so don't spend a lot of time searching that forum list. do your best and we'll move the post if it helps you get responses.

Most likely the cause is having Delete Cropped Pixels unchecked in tool options for the Crop Tool.

It is checked. I wish it is just a setup option...

If when you crop your jpeg is the layer turned from a Background Layer to a regular layer like Layer 0?

No, I rarely use layers (I know I should...) but I just crop, ctrl shift L, and if its fine control shift W, save, save and I am ready to pick my next picture in bridge.

if you're needing to repair the cc desktop app everyday it's because of something (typically av) that's corrupting the cc desktop files.
