Error: Could not complete your request because of a program error

Adobe Creative Cloud upgraded PS to 2021 and since then I have been unable to use it. When I try and open an image I get the error message  "Error: Could not complete your request because of a program error".  I cannot even close the program as I get the same message.  I have to close it using the Task Manager.

Is there anything  can try?

Kind reagdrs

Thank you for sharing this.

I followed all the steps and I figured out that even though my GPU meets the minimum requirements (DirectX 12 support and 2 GB of GPU memory) and has the last available driver update installed, it is somehow the problem here.

Photoshop works now that I have disabled the GPU.

I have been slowly abandoning Adobe for competitors like Procreate, Affinity Designer, and DaVinci Resolve anyway, so I guess this is all the more reason to continue do so.

Thank you again for your help!

I am experiencing the exact same error, and it also happens when I try to open or create documents or close PS.

I also have to use Task Manager to End Task.

My OS is Windows 10 Pro. (64 bit)

I get the same thing, but only if I'm selecting more than one layer in the layers palette. The "Error: Could not complete your request because of a program error" pops up, but I close it and continue working as if nothing happens.
