Files stored on a Hard Drive are not showing up while searching OPEN in Photoshop on Mac.

After Clicking "Open" in 25.11.0 2024 Photoshop while using a Mac Studio (Ventura 13.0) The finder window opens but no matter what location I select in the drop-down the search always reverts back to "Search This Mac" & only returns files stored on the Mac (while trying to retrieve files from Hard Drive). Even after I select a different location from the drop-down menu. How do I get Photoshop to return files stored on a hard drive via search?

 

I've already tried a couple different things. Going to

(Finder/settings/ & checking "hard drives".)

 

I've. tried

(Finder > Preferences > Advanced. Set "When performing a search:" to "Search the Current Folder".)

Rebuild the Spotlight index
  1. Choose Apple menu  > System Settings.
  2. Click Siri & Spotlight in the sidebar, then scroll down and click Spotlight Privacy on the right.
  3. Drag the disk or folder that you want to index again to the list of locations that Spotlight is prevented from searching.

 

I can't be the only one experiencing this issue but I can't seem to find an answer or even anyone asking this specific question. This has been a thorn in my side for a long time & would appreciate any help.

Apologies for the slow response Jeff. I didn't realize anyone had responded & thank you for such a timely reply. I did write a response already but upon updating my computer the window was closed out & the reply was lost so I will keep it short. No, I hadn't updated from mac OS Ventura 13.0 to mac OS Ventura 13.6.8 yet. I don't know if it was something I did in the past or set that way by default but it said something to the effect of "only update for security reasons" so I went ahead & updated. I've only had a minute or two to look around but it appears to have corrected the issue I was having which was really becoming an inconvenience so thank you again Jeff. I really appreciate it.

Please disregard my previous response as being a solution. I don't have the ability to delete or I would. I was mistaken & although it did seem to correct some buggy type behavior in Finder it was not a solution to the issue I'm having within Premiere Pro. Apologies.
