Fixing the masking problem

Hi

I have a little problem with masking especially hair. I looked lots of training but couldnt get any result to fix this.

I am selecting the area.

Press select and mask

Trying to do It in Overlay V

I am selecting the refined edge brush. Whem I paint the area I want the reds get mixing and the photo result is too bad like in the attach photos.

What is my problem. How can I fix this one
