Free transform of rasterized text doesn't remain when "done." Reverts warped version of orig state

I don't know what's going on with us, but since Photoshop three, maybe I've been able to free transform rasterized text -- free transform one corner at a time using the control (or command key on Mac) and then hit return, and it stays transformed as I've set it.

But now in the technological wonderland that is 2025 when everything is automated and doesn't listen to manual input no mater what, when I try to do that, a transform, one corner, or maybe the other or two, and then hit return, the edit reverts to some weird semi-warped version of the original. WTF?

In order, before, during, after.

Hi @maxrocketmusic!

I tested this on my end but wasn’t able to reproduce the same behavior you're seeing. Could you let me know which version of Photoshop you're using?

You might want to try resetting Photoshop’s preferences to bring everything back to its default settings. Just a heads-up—this will wipe any custom brushes, actions, workspaces, or other settings, so be sure to back those up first! Here’s how to do that: Reset Photoshop Preferences.

If that doesn’t do the trick, would you mind sharing a quick screen recording of your workflow? That would really help us understand what’s going on.

Thanks so much!

Well, ok. I tried that before and it didn't work but this time it did. Thanks.

This should work as it always has. It seems like the automation that is in the 2025 version of Photoshop thinks it knows better than what I want the machine to do!

I expect that when I use Free Transform, the results of my Free Transform will stay put.

I have restarted Photoshop, reset my preferences, reverted to Legacy Transform... everything I've found, nothing seems to work. This is either a bug or very very very poor user experience.
