Came into work today to discover PS has updated and now my layer thumbnail has lost quite a bit of screen real estate to a new grey border. I'm not sure what this is supposed to be indicating or why it's there. Any ideas?
Hello, I have the same problem. Looks like the thumbnail itself is smaller than it's respective border and sthe rest of the space is filled with gray. I also am inserting a screenshot. Resetting preferences doesn't help!
Ok, so I managed to locate the problem. It's my Windows scaling. I have an 27 inch 1440p monitor and I scale my Windows to 125% because otherwise everything is very small. But the thumbnails in PS somehow have a problem with this and look normal only if I set my Windows scaling to 100%. Which is super sad, because I don't want to use that scaling. Please try to fix this guys!
To get a fix, you will need to raise the issue where it will be seen by Adobe developers, at the link below. This forum is answered by volunteers - we don't work for Adobe.
Yes, it is exactly the same. I suspect this is a new feature that I cannot find in the changelogs as opposed to a bug. The border seems to disappear when an adjustment layer is altered from its default settings, or if a layer is moved to occupy and space beyond the document bounds. Interesting idea, but a quick skim of the preferences doesn't reveal anything about it (unless I am not seeing it, which is not unlikely).
