There is no longer any on-line activation for Lr 6. To do the move, you will need to follow these instructions https://www.lightroomqueen.com/how-move-lightroom-to-new-computer/ and then to install Lr 6 you will need to use the offline activation method https://community.adobe.com/t5/download-install-discussions/lightroom-6-on-a-new-pc/m-p/14638713#M580921

See here for how to download trustworthy copies of LR 6.14:

Note that the Mac installer is 32-bit and won’t install on versions of Mac OS later than10.14.

See here for how to activate LR after installing (the “normal” method no longer works because Adobe turned off the activation servers):

Hey Guys,

My Lightroom 6 product was registered in 2017 and is still registered and available to download on the Adobe website, but the installer is no longer available to download.

I was told by Adobe support to check here to see if any solutions can be provided to obtain the installer.

Any help would be very much appreciated!

Thank you in advance.

I have been using Lightroom 6 (perpetual license, serial number version) on two Windows 11 machines.

One computer (PC A) has completely failed, probably due to a BIOS issue, and it will not boot anymore. I no longer have access to it.

I replaced it with another computer (PC B). Lightroom 6 initially launched with a 30-day grace period, but now it no longer starts and shows an activation error message.

Another computer (PC C) is still working normally.

I assume that PC A is still counted as one of the two activated devices, and I need to deactivate it. However, since the machine is no longer accessible, I cannot deactivate it manually.

Could someone please advise how I can remove the activation from the dead computer?
Is there a specific Adobe support contact I should reach out to for resetting the activation count?

As far as I know, the activation from the dead PC cannot be removed any more.

Please try the instructions from @Eldiin to install Lr 6. Link:

@dj_paige Thank you very much for the link. I’m trying still. In my case, the pop up dialog does not have link of "Having trouble connecting to the internet?"

I can now open it on the new laptop by going offline before opening the programme. It still asks me to sign in where I click on “later”, then the programme opens. Thanks!

I will now try to actually use the programme and will let you know if thre are problems.

Very odd, the link was correct, but when I click on it I get the same results as you get. Read the post from @Eldiin here

Hi dj_paige,

Thjanks.

fyi, my new laptop is not a Mac but an hp and runs under Windows.

I had already installed Lightroom6 with the CD but uninstalled it and reinstalled with the link at the bottom in your message above. This all worked but I still cannot open the programme, it keeps asking me to sign into my Adobe account which I do successfully. When I return to the app, it again asks me again to sign into my adobe account, and it goes on like this, I cannot open the programme. Any other suggestion? Regards

Danke!

I don’t think Lr 6 can be installed on newer Mac operating systems. What is the version number of your Mac OS? (we need the version NUMBER and not words like “latest” or “up-to-date”)

Okay, as I have checked, you have an perpetual subscription for Lightroom, which is now under end of Life, and we are the support team for Creative Cloud applications of Adobe. Please try to reach out to our community page via the below link and post your concern over there and you will receive the help related to the same: they wont let me RE-download what i  own. what can  i even do?

[Mod. Moved to the appropriate Lightroom Classic forum]

Downloads for perpetual licenses haven't been available for a very long time. Can't remember the exact year for Lightroom, but it must be at least 6 or 7 years ago, probably more. It is now called Lightroom Classic and is subscription only.
