How do I add "Delete and fill selection" to an action

I've been using the Delete and fill selection.  It works pretty well most of the time.  BUT, there are times when it works better if I do the selection then do a Select>modify>Expand>and add a few pixels.  Then do a Select>Modify>and feather about half the size of the added pixels.

I'd like to put this in an action, but I can't figure out how to put the "Delete and fill selection" INTO the action.  I can use the shortcut Shift+backspace, and it appears to work, but HOW do I put this in an action?

Either record it or insert it using Edit > Fill (action menu, insert menu command).

I'm pretty sure this is not an "Edit>Fill".  The command is on the context menu of the Object Selection Tool, and as far as I know, it has no menu equivalent.  So, NO, there's no "record" it that I can find, and the Insert Menu command doesn't appear to apply.

Does anyone know how to insert a command from a context menu into an action - specifically the "Delete and Fill Selection"?

The command is on the context menu of the Object Selection Tool...

It would have helped if you had stated that at the outset.

Please provide a screenshot to illustrate exactly which option you are referring to.

Expanding the Selection and Content-Aware Fill (Edit > Fill, Content-Aware) seems able to produce an identical result.

Thank you for the screenshot, I didn't know where you were looking, despite your description.

OK, seems that I was close when I suggested using Edit > Fill. As @c.pfaffenbichler has recommended, record that command with the Content-aware option set for the equivalent result.

Actually, no, Content-Aware Fill doesn't product an "identical result".  If it did, I wouldn't be asking how to get this command into an action.  But, I don't know if it's not possible, or if nobody seeing this knows how to do it, or what, but I think it's time to give it up in this forum...  Thanks for the replies...

Photoshop doesn't record or make available every command for use in Actions, I wish this was otherwise, however, we have to work with what we currently have.

If a command isn't directly recordable, then there may or may not be one or more equivalent commands that can achieve the same result.

ONE-CLICK DELETE AND FILL

Introduced in Photoshop 24.0 (October 2022 release)

Use the one-click Delete and Fill Selection feature to remove unwanted objects from your images or to retouch images with complex backgrounds.

Simply use the Object Selection Tool to make your selection and use the following keyboard shortcut to remove it:

  • macOS: Shift + Delete
  • Windows: Shift + Backspace

But if you're working with the Lasso Tool or any other Photoshop tool, right-click the mouse to access the contextual menu and select Delete and Fill Selection to delete unwanted objects from your image.

Sadly, the action doesn't record the SHIFT + DELETE sequence as you originally noted... Which leaves work arounds.

Actually you don’t seem to have read what I wrote attentively.

You seem to have ignored the part about expanding the Selection (in my test 14px seems to work).
