Question

How do I change where files open in the workspace?

Photoshop CC opens files in the top-left corner of the workspace. This is a problem, because I like to have my panels on the left side, and if I have a panel in the top left, I'm always having to move it to retriee the newly-opened file. How can I change the default position for opening files?

I have a Mac with Mohave 10.14.6.

    Hi Angelique

Two things come to mind.  Actually three things.

    1. in Preferences > Workspace make sure that Open Documents as Tabs is checked.  I have a feeling it might currently be set to Float all Windows

With at least one document open, make sure that Consolidate All to Tabs is selected,

And finally in Preferences > Tools make sure that Overscroll is checked

If that doesn't fix it, it might be helpful to see a screen shot of your workspace.  Just copy to clipboard, and paste to the thread with Cmd v

    Good luck

Thanks, but I don't want to open my files as tabs. I like to open them as floating windows and move them around. Before I had Creative Cloud, when I used CS5, new files would open in the center of the workspace. With Creative Cloud they always open at the top left. I don't know if this can be changed.
