There is no autorecover file in the 'adobe photoshop 2022 settings' folder. There is in the 'adobe photoshop 2022' folder but the folder is empty...

Autorecovery is crash recovery. The Autorecovery folder is emptied in a normal application shutdown, but not if the application crashes. Photoshop looks for content in the Autorecovery folder every time it starts up.
In other words, you can't find recovered files. They will open automatically on next launch. If they don't, there's nothing there.
The autorecovery process only initiates if you have saved the file to disk at least once. The process doesn't start just by opening a file and not saving it.
You mentioned "end of file". That means you have a corrupt file, and autorecovery won't help with that. File corruption is always caused by failing hardware, usually disk or RAM, and you need to find out which component is failing. Back up everything before the corruption spreads.
