How to disable the purple lines when using the select tool?

Hello,

I have a problem with that annoying purple lines that appears every time I use the move or select tool...My Photoshop version is 21.0 (for Windows), and the version I had before these lines were not appearing (on 20.0.10).

When I use CTRL + or CTRL - for zoom, it´s the same, and besides the purple lines there is the measure cotes for the object also...

Is there a way to disable that?

I remember the older versions, you would just uncheck the "Sel. Autom." on the top of the screen when using the select/move tool...Now, no matter if this is selected or not, it´s appearing every time...

Here is how it´s my screen (attached).

If someone could help me?

Thank you!

"you would just uncheck the 'Sel. Autom.' "

In addition to what Ged said, Smart Guides are a completely separate feature from automatic layer selection.

  • Smart Guides help you to align and distribute objects as you move them. (Cmd+U)
  • Automatic layer selection means that when you are moving objects on different layers, PS will automatically attempt to select the layer where your cursor is and move the pixels on that layer.

Hi

They're called smart guides and can be turned off from the View Menu, more info

Thank you! I had forgotten about that smart guides...It´s because I had to reconfigure everything about my Preferences after update from one version to another.
