How to turn off auto transform when selecting a layer

Since today I have this weird thing, where when I select something I automatically the rectangles to transform an object. I want this turned off though as it was normally because it is just confusing. Is there an option where I can disable this? I like it more where I just press cmd + t and then I can transform it.

You can uncheck 'Show transform Controls' in the option bar for the move tool
