I want a script to organize and arrange the layers like this

Hello everyone
I have a project that has irregular shapes and I want to distribute it in a way that distributes the layers by calculating and exploiting all the spaces
I attached a picture to illustrate the idea between the random, unorganized layers
And the layers that I want to organize in a standard and ideal way

From what I know of scripting, this isn't possible (happy to be corrected).

If this is for gang printing, then you need to look into nesting/imposition software.

I was thinking it was like the Travelling Salesman Problem. Near infinite variables, and harder to solve than some might think. Some sort of maze solving algorithm perhaps.

And when including the option of rotating the elements the number of possibilities would be even higher …

I'll be interested to see if anyone can help with this. Working out the best arrangment to slot those objects together seems like a tall order, but you never know.
