Question

Is it possible to script the Photoshop preference to 'Disable Compression of PSD and PSB Files'?

Hi there,

Does anyone know if it is possible to script the changing of the Disable Compression of PSD and PSB Files in Photoshop preferences.

I work with very large files and it is most efficient to work with PSD and PSB file compression turned off as I save regularly. When a job is complete I would like to automate saving these large files with compression turned on to save on disc space.

Any ideas?

Thank you,

Richie

From my testing it seems possible to record Photoshop action for that task. Run action to Disable PSD Compression then save. Later when you want to compress run action to set preference back to compression. You can assign keyboard shortcuts to play action(s).
