Layer Error when doing layer via copy. Please help!

This recently always happen on my last component to select and enhance. When I make the selection (ex. buttons only) and do a layer via copy or click an adjustment layer a ghost image is copied on all my layers (main layer and mask layer). Tried masking it out on one of the layer PS replace it with another ghost image on the same layer mask. I don't know what is happening.

Go to Preferences > Technology Previews... and enable “Older GPU mode (pre 2016)” - Restart Photoshop. Does the problem persist?

Thanks very much for the reply @CShubert. I recently updated my photoshop. Somehow its working fine for now. If the problems recurs I will consider your instructions and let you know. Thanks very much again and have a good day.
