MacOS_ Hold down Option key while the Brush tool is selected.

Using Sonoma OS. I want to be able to select the Brush tool, then hold down the option key and right click to set the brush size. Currently the feature does not work because holding down the option key while the brush tool is selected, changes the tool to the Eye droppper tool (same as holding i). How do I turn off this feature? I tried turning off Spring-loaded tool shortcuts but that does not affect the Option Key.

In Photoshop you don't need to hold down any modifier keys with the Brush Tool selected, just right click in the document area to bring up the brush picker.

    Another way is to

Option+Control+Left click and drag left or right to change the brush size

    or use the

Left Bracket key to Decrease the brush size

    or

Right Bracket key to Increase the brush size

Thank you all, I was looking for Control+Option+Left click and drag. All the other options mentioned also work but this is the one I was looking for. Much appreciated!

    Hi!

You will need to make that change in Photoshop, not your mac operating system. What version of Photoshop are you using?

On a Mac, you change the size of the brush by holding Option + Right Clicking (Mouse/Pen)+ Dragging the mouse Horizontally (left or right).

Let us know if that works?

Hello, I also need help on brush size shortcut in MAc. I used to use option+control+left click and drag to change the brush size. But somehow that shortcut does not work and instead the cursor switched to the contextual menu icon. I am using Mac Turkish kleyboard so bracket keys are also not working for me. I tried almost every advice on how to bring back option + control + left click and drag to change brush size but no luck.  Do you know any problem like this one?

Apple gave us the Control+left click/drag way back when Macs had a one-button mouse. It is identical to right click/drag. Right-click (or Control+left click) is indeed the Mac shortcut for right-click as you have discovered.

Try right mouse button plus drag to see if that works.

Note that the Control key on macOS is the same as the right mouse button. It's what we used to use when we had a one-button mouse and it continues to work.
