Masking problem

I'm currently using the latest version of Photoshop 21.2.0 and struggling my through some videos on masking which I found on youtube .  Currently a masking tutorial and I have come up against a brick wall.  This is what the guy creating the video shows and what I have showing on my mac (also the latest Catalina).  Under levels listed on the dock at the bottom of the right side there is nowhere to make fine adjustments.  I have checked and found that the "levels" under "image" seems to work ok.  Is this a bug with Photoshop or am I doing something wrong.  The original beginning his showing but not on my mac.

 

Can somebody please point me in the right direction, thank you.

Your properties panel is not showing the whole adjustment dialogue the way you have it on your screen. There is a scroll bar next to it (just to the right in your "mine" image). Scroll down to get the adjustments or move and expand the panel.
