Moving/Duplicating multiple layer comps

Engaged ,
Jan 07, 2023 Jan 07, 2023

It would be very helpful if we could move multiple layer comps at the same time. And additionally, by using the ALT-key, being able to duplicate them as well. As it is now, it's very tedious to do so.

Yes, I would also like to be able to move multiple layer comps at a time, instead of individual layer comps. I work a LOT in layer comps for storyboading and sometimes I need to move whole sections of layers comps, which currently only allows me to move ONE AT A TIME. It would be such an upgrade and improvement to be able to move multiple layer compas at at time. Please consider this request Adobe :)))

Can you not highlight the layers and drag them to a new Artboard? That is what I do. Or is there something else you are trying to do?

@Jumpenjax I'd like to grab like 10 layercomps and shift them elsewhere within layer comps. I have never tried doing a new board, but I work with 100+ layer comps at a time and I need to have them in a specific sequence. It would be nice if I could grab 10 layer comps at the bottom at once and be able to move them together into a middle section, if I wanted. Hope that makes sense.

I had another thought, what if you just name the file a different name? Then you have everything on a separate file. Then you can rename the file however many you need.

Hey @Steph35785402y7al / @Andreas Resch
We can move multiple layers by using shift key to select multiple layers and using simple drag and drop using mouse to move them up or down. We can also group the layer comps and move them. Can you please specify what issue are you facing?

Hi Ishwari, the post is about Layer Comps, not the Layers. We are asking for the same mangement functionality in the Layer Comps menu, as in the layers menu.  Right now I have to move one layer comp at a time, I can't shift click tnen move them.

Bumping this request back up to:

  1. Simply ask, how are we now in 2025 and still unable to batch reorder Layer Comps in the pallet?
  2. Request that we can color layer comps similar to the layer pallet too. I have files with hundreds of layer comps and a coloring feature would help tremendously.
