My type layer is not showing up so i cannot move it anywhere after typing in something????

It sounds like you created some text, but the layer is not there in the layers panel.  Can you see the text in the document?  Is the layer hidden in a group perhaps.  Like Bojan has said. It is not clear.

It might help if you could show us a full res screen shot of your workspace showing document and layers panel.

Are you suggesting that when you select a type layer and drag it, the content of the type layer becomes hidden, or are you referring to something else? The issue isn't clear; could you provide more details or post a screenshot to illustrate the problem?
