I went through the trouble shoot; closed PS and deleted my photshop settings folder and then relaunched. That let me open the file again, but after closing the program and reopening, AGAIN it said there was a program error and could not open.

Anyu help would be great

that error is coming because of file not saved properly or moving files, the good news is It can be fixed.

Solution:

1. Open Photopea Online Photo Editor

2. Upload your psd file.

3. Go to File>Save as PSD

4. Now open that new psd save file in your photoshop it is now fixed.

It appears when I am trying to open the Photoshop software I don't know what is the actual problem

After some testing it seems this is only a problem when I open photoshop directly onto my Wacom Cintiq monitor. When my cintiq is off and I open photoshop on my main monitor this doesnt happen at all.

Does it give you any specifics in the error?

Does it happen with all PSD files?

No specifics, it just says a program error occured.

This is the first time I'm using photoshop on this PC, however when I get into the program after deleting the settings it works completely fine, no issue.

The issue happens after I close the program and open it again and attempt to access any existing file in addition to not being able to create a new file.

The hardware is is definitely good enough for PS requirements so I'm really at a loss.
