Whenever I want to re-size an object, it doesn't show anchor points and doesn't let me resize. If I make a square box, I can't edit it into a rectangle as the anchor points don't show up. I have to completely remake the shape instead.

Which tool are you using to make the object, and which tool are you using to try to resize it? Can you show a screen shot, including your Layers panel?

This sounds as though you are using Transform and are unaware that, when working with images in v20, the proportion remains during a size change without holding down the Shift key. The Shift key is now required when you want to change the height-to-width ratio. Click here to turn on the center pivot point.

...unless the object was drawn with a shape tool, which still requires Shift with Transform to keep it proportional. The OP refers to a square box, which is why I asked for the Layers panel. ![]()
