Hi there,

Sorry that you're getting an error "Error at loading of ippCV library" while loading Photoshop.

Photoshop 2021 (v22.x) requires a CPU that supports SSE 4.2 or later. See: https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/kb/known-issues.html#ErroratloadingofippCVlibrary

To determine if your CPU meets this SSE version support requirement, see Photoshop's Help > System Info dialog and look in or near the 4th line.

  1. Adobe Photoshop Version: 22.0.0 20200921.m.1053 2020/09/21: 0fb66349f4  x64
  2. Number of Launches: 6
  3. Operating System: Mac OS 10.15.5
  4. ystem architecture: Intel CPU Family:6, Model:14, Stepping:3 with MMX, SSE Integer, SSE FP, SSE2, SSE3,SSE4.1, SSE4.2, AVX, AVX2, HyperThreading

If after reviewing the above information, your CPU version isn't compatible with Photoshop 22.x. You should roll back to the previous version of Photoshop 21.2.4 and let us know if that helps.   Here's how you roll back to the previous version: https://helpx.adobe.com/download-install/using/install-previous-version.html

Thanks,

Akash

Hi Mohit,

If photoshop won't start because of this error, users won't be able to use Help>System Info in

photoshop to check the CPU specs.

There should also be methods given in the KB for windows and mac using the operating system

tools to check the CPU specs.

Also adobe should be able to check the system specs before installing.

On a mac use Terminal by pressing Cmd+Space (spotlight search) then type Terminal

and in the Terminal window type or paste sysctl -a | grep machdep.cpu.features

then press Enter.

Or go to Applications>Utilities>Terminal.app

For extened CPU info, type or paste sysctl -a | grep machdep.cpu in the Terminal window

Hallo,i think it`s the last time i did an abo for photoshop .

since Camera Raw 12.4 my graphic card is nomore supported .

I swiched back to 12.3 this works mit my card. Now with

Photoshop 2021 there is again a great problem, i have paid for

something  i can not use on my computer. I don`t have money

to buy a new computer only for Photoshop. In the future I

will look for another program for  image editing.

I`m very upset about Adobe`s strategy.

Hi there,

Looks like your CPU version isn't compatible with Photoshop 22.0. You should roll back to the previous version of Photoshop 21.2.4 and let us know if that helps.

Here's how you roll back to the previous version: https://helpx.adobe.com/download-install/using/install-previous-version.html

Thanks,

Mohit

My CPU:

Intel Core 2 Quad Q9550, 2833 MHz (8.5 x 333)

I know it's old, but maybe it could still work 😞

Hi there,

We're sorry for the trouble. Could you please check the minimum system requirements for Photoshop 22.0 here: https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/system-requirements.html

Also, check the available workarounds to fix this issue for now: https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/kb/known-issues.html#ErroratloadingofippCVlibrary

Let us know if that helps.

Thanks,

Mohit

Hi there,

Sorry that you're getting an error "Loading ippCV libraries" while launching Photoshop after an update.

Would you mind sharing the exact version of Photoshop you're using? Like Photoshop v22.0 or v21.2.4. Check in the Creative Cloud desktop app. See https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/kb/uptodate.html#CurrentVersion

Thanks,

Akash

it does not matter, is not the file but the CPU that does not have support for SSE 4.2

What's the point to reply if you have no idea what you are talking about?
Yes, CPU does not have SSE4.2 support.
But library used by Photoshop (Intel Performance Primitives) actually have implementation which does not require SSE4.2 and would work - it just was not included in the Photoshop distribution.
Thats why people get these error message.

Here is description how this could be fixed by adding missing libraries: https://feedback.photoshop.com/conversations/photoshop/photoshop-error-at-loading-of-ippcv-library/5f8f06c2c17a06631eb72c7e?commentId=5f934590c17a060f8ebe929a
