Whenever I clicked on the mask, the tooltip will pop up. I have already turned off the tooltips. If I don't close the tooltip, and press the number pad to adjust the opacity, it will run an action. Is this a bug? I'm on V 25.12.0.
Hi All! Sorry for the trouble.
A fix for this was released on Friday of 27th around 3 PM PST via Creative Cloud. You should stop seeing the pop-up. If you're still seeing this, please sign out of the Creative Cloud desktop app & sign in again.
Let me know if the issue exists. Thanks!

Hi all,
Since Ive updated Ps to its latest version, every time I tap on the mask or the stamp layer itself I get these pop up tips, see screenshot. Where can I disable this to stop it happening?
16' MBP, latest version OS and Photoshop.

I get this as well using the latest versions of Windows11 and PSCC.
I also get magenta overlays on the entire image which are a bugger to get rid of.

You're supposed to be able to disable it by un-ticking the box:
Edit/Prefences/Tools/Show Rich Tooltips
Which on my set-up is not ticked and greyed out!

Go to Settings --> Tools and you can disable rich tooltips to get rid of those popups.

My answer was to the original poster who is using a Mac so the path to preferences is Photoshop --> Settings --> Tools. In Windows, you are correct it would be Edit --> Preferences --> Tools.
If the settings for you are not saving you could try resetting the preferences and then making that change again: https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/using/preferences.html#reset-preferences

Thanks, but the cure could be worse than the remedy.
It appears to be a bug in the latest upgrade, and I expect it to be resolved with the next one. In my experience, every upgrade comes with a new set of bugs.
Resetting means I first have to save my preferences, and then re-instate then afterwards. There are the two possibilities that either the reset won't work or that the bug will reappear with reloading the preferences.
Thanks for your help.

Hey, @dragantomas & @TrikinDave. Welcome to the Photoshop Community. I'll help you figure this out. I'll move this post to discussions. I'll need more info to help you figure this out. Please share the system info from Photoshop Help > System info > Copy and paste into a text document > upload and attach here.
Have you launched Photoshop after a long while? Do you both see the same experience? Does it happen after a series of specific steps? Does dismissing the modal not have an effect?
There could be a variety of reasons why the onboarding experience might be triggered. We need more info.
The Magenta overlay is due to the Object Finder in the selection tools. You can hide the Overlay from the Gear Icon > Never Show Overlay.
Let me know if this helps. Thanks!

I also have the same problem. Un-ticking the Show Rich Tooltips in the preferences and restarting PS hasn't made any difference. I have resorted to turning off the Contextual Tool Bar which has stopped the problem until the bug gets fixed.

Hello, since yesterday I've been getting a popup tooltip (see attachment) every time a create a mask or click on a mask. Show tooltips and Use rich tooltips are unchecked in preferences. PS 25.12.0 Windows. Reinstalling PS is not fixing the problem. Very annoying, so far I have no clue what´s going on, appreciate any help.

Photoshop v 25.12
Windows
I am getting what looks like a rich tooltips pop up every time I run an action on an image.
I have clicked dismiss, the "x" and have disabled rich tooltips in preferences.
Its very irritating to have to dismiss this pop up every single time I run an action.
This just started happening after the most recent update.
I have included photos of the pop up and also the preferences window.

Hi!
The screenshot of your Preferences show the box checked. I just unchecked mine and they stopped popping up. But here is another bit of information about the task bar and pop ups. https://community.adobe.com/t5/indesign-discussions/context-bar-and-popup-tutorials-disrupting-workf...

Of course the standard solution to modern software bugs in an otherwise useful feature is to just turn off that feature. -.-
