Question

Photoshop 2012 changing colour space

Hi

I have noticed that files I created in file Photoshop 2020 when I open them in 2021, it has changed the colour space making the colours look incorrect, they are too saturated and bright.

The 2020 file used sRGB IEC61966-2.1 whereas when I open it in the 2021 version, it changes it Adobe RGB 1998.

Is there a setting I can 'check' to make sure this doesn't happen.
Thanks

As long as policies are set to "preserve embedded profiles", the embedded profile will always override the working space. In other words, the working space is not important.

However, if the file is untagged, doesn't have an embedded profile, this can happen. Without a profile, the working space will kick in.

Note that Export and Save For Web will strip the profile unless you remember to check the box.

Hi, directly in Photoshop go to Edit - Color Settings and from here you can manage the workspace.

It's probably due to the color settings. You should check "Preserve embedded profiles" under Color management policy options

Hi

Ah ok so 'preserve embedded profiles' is already checked under the color management policies but the working space RGB profile was incorrect.

I've switched to the correct one and all files are opening as they should now.

Thanks for your help
