For the life of me I cannot get rid of the Share button on the Options bar - it is covering up options when you go into various tools.

I do have a suggestion that should let you keep your present setup of resolution, photoshop workspace, etc and that is to go to Photoshop>Preferences>Workspace and check Enable Narrow Options Bar then restart photoshop.

I'm currently seeing this bug but only when the screen is 50% width or smaller

By @BerryTogard

When you resize your window to 50% or smaller, then you can use the Narrow Options Bar instead of the full-sized one:

Photoshop > Preferences > Workspace > check Enable Narrow Options Bar > Restart photoshop

…only when the screen is 50% width or smaller causing the tool buttons to get much closer to each other. At that point the share and other buttons hover over the menu next to it and creating a weird overlap…Nothing fancy about my set-up just a corporate zbook machine.

By @BerryTogard

One thing to check: The buttons on the right and left side are more likely to crash into each other if the combination of screen width (in pixels) and operating system display scaling (in percent) result in a screen image narrower than in the Photoshop system requirements under Monitor Resolution. For example, according to the System Requirements a laptop set to 1280 x 800 px at 150% would be too crowded.

If the current settings are what work best in general so you don’t want to change them, then in Photoshop that’s when you might try the Narrow Options Bar setting that jane-e suggested.

I have the same problem and tried the Enable Narrow Options Bar but it didn't work. This is driving me crazy! Any other ideas? I have Photoshop 24.3.0 for Mac. It is covering up the button I use to commit an operation and I can't use it at all!

It is really wierd that this button doesn't seem like it's part of the UI at all, it is a different color and is haphazardly overlaying other controls. If there is a work around or option to disable the share button (or maybe move it to a menu?) or put it on it's own "sharing" panel that can be closed?

I second this suggestion. It's always a problem for me as well, and if enough people want another option (to get rid of the share button), then why doesn't Adobe respond to that request. I've NEVER used the share button, and don't expect to do so in the future.

I have the same problem.

By @davidc72954600

Your problem is not the same. It's not the Share Button — instead your entire options bar is stuck at the top of your screen with no X to close and no grabber bar to move. The X you see on the far left for the Tools panel.

We've seen this before, but I don't remember the solution. Perhaps another volunteer can assist.

Try resetting your current workspace. Window > Workspace > Reset [current workspace] or changing to another workspace temporarily.

Resetting preferences after backing them up is bound to work, but try some other things first.

To commit a transformation, for example, try one of these in the interim:

Thanks for responding. Someone else suggested the following which did work:

Drag the options bar to the top edge of the screen and hold it there until the blue line appears, then release. When docked, it will use the full width of the screen, and if you display resolution is high enough, there will be more room to keep the Share button from overlapping items from the left side.

We can see all of the posts, in this thread, @davidc72954600, and Conrad gave you one correct answer. Resetting your workspace (see earlier) also works as long as the workspace includes the options bar. 😊 I'm glad it's working for you again!

Your screen shot shows that the options bar and other panels are undocked (floating). Just be aware that when the options bar is undocked, it doesn’t fill the full width of the display, so the chance is much higher that the items on the right side of the options bar (including the Share button) will collide with items coming from the left side.

So if you have no objection to docking the options bar to the top of the screen, do that: Drag the options bar to the top edge of the screen and hold it there until the blue line appears, then release. When docked, it will use the full width of the screen, and if you display resolution is high enough, there will be more room to keep the Share button from overlapping items from the left side.

It's been almost 2 years... Why hasn't Adobe still solved the overlapping problem? Please fix it when the options bar is floating.

Docking the options bar worked for me. I do not use the applications frame. I have a two monitor setup with all pallettes on the second monitor which is to the right of the main. When I dock the options bar (grab it at the very left to move it, jiggle it a bit near the menu bar until a blue line appears, then let go), the cursed share button along with notifications and other stuff (c'mon already Adobe) that is never used goes way way off to the far right margin, I can hardly see them any more, which is great!
