Photoshop adds drop shadow to new files by default. How do you change this?

Hi Everyone,

Whenever I create a new file, Photoshop automatically adds a drop shadow to the edges of the document (see attached screen shot). Is there a way to turn this feature off?

I create the attached file using the following process:

  1. File > New
  2. Custom
  3. 1920 px (L) x 1080 px (H)
  4. Resolution: 300 Pixels/Inch
  5. Orientation: Landscape
  6. “Artboards”: unchecked
  7. Color Mode: RGB, 8 Bit
  8. Background Contents: White
  9. Color Profile: Display
  10. Pixel Aspect Ratio: Square Pixels

I'm using Photoshop 2024 CC 25.11.0, and my OS is Sonoma 14.6.1.

Thanks in advance!

@Khalid31320570jvan That isn't a drop shadow - it is the user interface design for canvas size when using white as your background color.

The shadow is not part of the document.
