Question

Photoshop crash when loading files into stack

Whenever I use File>Scripts>Load Files into Stack, one image loads, then another layer titled, "load layers" loads and the screen flashes black and white. I have to use task manager to quit PS. PS, my drivers, and Windows are all up to date. I've tried it with different images and different folders; same result. I've also tried loading them from a Bridge stack; same result.

Photoshop version 24.3

Windows 10 Home Version 22H2, OS Build 19045.2728

Hi @Heet_Joshi4293 Thank you for reaching out! Since this thread is a bit old, it might be best to start a new one with all the details of your issue. That way, your comments won't get lost, and you'll get the help you need more quickly. Thanks a bunch!

Could you provide more information about your issue like a detailed description of your workflow and what exactly happens? Do you get any prompts or any error messages when you try to load images into a Stack? Please send you system info as well with your response from Help > System Info.

Cheers!

Not a fix, however, as a work-around, there are alternative scripts for stacking layers.

Hi @Andrew273700321pd8 Go to Photoshop Preferences/Technology Preview and check “Disable Native Canvas”. Then check “Use Older GPU Mode (2016)”. Quit and relaunch PS.
