Hey, I'm having issues with both Photoshop Beta and Photoshop 2025 crashing as soon as I open them. Both are updated to the latest versions. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the apps, restarting my computer, and opening both with "shift" key held to see if plugins were the issue.
This has been happening since yesterday and today Photoshop Beta had an update so I was relieved thinking it would fix it, but alas it did not for me. Both apps will open but if I click on anything at all, they freeze and I have to force quit. I've tried waiting it out and not forcing quit quickly to see if it would sort itself out with patience and it didn't haha. Anyone have any suggestions?
I'm running macOS Sequoia 15.0.1 and it's happening both on my MacBook Pro and my iMac.

in the future, to find the best place to post your message, use the list here, https://community.adobe.com/
p.s. i don't think the adobe website, and forums in particular, are easy to navigate, so don't spend a lot of time searching that forum list. do your best and we'll move the post (like this one has already been moved) if it helps you get responses.

It may be the penalty for being an early adopter of a new OS.
How much RAM and spare hard disk capacity do you have?
Have you tried resetting the Photoshop preferences back to the factory defaults?

Thank for your help! I updated to the new OS weeks ago though and Beta was working just fine with it until 2 days ago.
I have 64 GB Ram on my MacBook and have a very open hard disk and I work off of external drives for any storage. But I'm having this problem with Beta and Photoshop 2025 on 2 different comptuers, both my MacBook and my iMac.
I can't reset the Photoshop preferences as Photoshop quits whenever I open it and click on anything.

Beta versions are for testing purposes so are not recommended for "real" work.
An alternative way of resetting the Photoshop Preferences back to the factory defaults:
Launch Photoshop and quickly hold down the following keys:
Windows: Shift+Ctrl+Alt
Mac OS: Shift+Control+Option+Command
When prompted to delete the Photoshop Preferences, click Yes
(If you don't see the question, repeat the exercise.)

I said in both my original post and my last reply to you that both Beta and Photoshop 2025 both are crashing upon loading. So I can't do any "real" work in any version of Photoshop at all, including the "real" Photoshop non-Beta version..
I just tried what you recommended with both Beta and Photoshop 2025 and it did not work. They are still crashing upon loading the app.

Try installing Photoshop 2024 and see if that loads. If you have trouble with that version as well, it might be worth using the Adobe Cleaner Tool to remove all traces of the applications and doing a clean install.

I tried installing Photoshop 2024 and it also crashed as soon as it opened. So I tried the Adobe Cleaner Tool, removed all traces of the apps and did a clean install of Photoshop 2024 and it's still crashing.

Since all these versions are crashing and have worked in the past, it suggests there is an issue with an asset shared between the apps. The first thing to do is see if it is somewhere in the user settings. Try creating a new OS user account, log into that, and see if things work there. If so, we'll want to clean up the user files (additional preferences which are not removed by the standard methods). If it still fails in the new user, then we'd want to clear out additional app assets. Despite the name, the Cleaner Tool doesn't remove a whole lot (it's main job is to clean up database files that track what Adobe apps you have installed, which can prevent you from reinstalling after an uninstall). Let us know if the new user works or not and we can figure out what should be removed for a more thorough clean up.

I tried every tip and trick given in here and nothing worked. Then it just magically fixed itself 2 days later so not sure what was happening but its working fine now.

I'm experiencing the same issues. Photoshop crashes in middle of task without posibility to restore the work. Hours of work lost. Have you found solution for this?

Unfortunautely no, I tried every tip given to me and nothing fixed it. Then it just all the sudden worked fine 2 days later so not sure what the issue was.

If you're dependent on a stable system do not install beta software! The purpose of beta software is to expose and report bugs. You're testing software, not doing critical work.

As I said in my original post, both Beta AND Photoshop 2025 both weren't working and were crashing. This comment isn't helpful for those who are trying to fix their Photoshop apps crashing. I'm not the only one, as others have commented in here having a similar problem.

Same here. Photoshop Beta and Photoshop 2025 crash since I've updated them. Hours of work and then it randomly freezes and crashes without saving anything. I have reinstalled both of the photoshop versions already but no fix.

MacBook Pro is from 2022 and iMac is from 2023. The problem randomly fixed itself on its own so every tip/trick I wss given and tried didn't work but then like 2 days later everything was fine so not sure what the problem was.

One of my go-tos in Mac troubleshooting is to reset the NVRAM It doesn't hurt anything.
I had a drive crash, and it sorted it out.

The problem just went away 2 days later with no explanation or update so not sure what was wrong but it's working fine now.
