Postscript Error When Placing Captured Shape From Library

I am running Adobe Photoshop Version: 25.5.0 20240214.r.375 c4f33ec arm64 Number of Launches: 73 Operating System: Mac OS 14.3.1 System architecture: Apple M3 Pro, HybridCPU(6:6)

After I create a shape from an image in the library using the Capture in-app extension by clicking + then extract from image then going ot the shapes tab and saving the shape to my CC library, it saves this captured shape into my library.

My problem is when I export this captured shape to a blank document or any document, I get the following error message: "Error:  Could not place becasue the Postscript data isd empty or invalid". This only happens on shapes that I captured with this extension in Photoshop desktop.  I can import other shapes from my library and they import just fine.  I only have problems with shapes that were created using the capture in-app extension.  I know that this captured shape is not corrupted because when I access my library from Photoshop for iPad, the same captured shape that had an error in Photoshop Desktop imports correctly in Photoshop for iPad.  I can also successfully place shapes captured by the Capture Mobile App into Photoshop Desktop.  I only have this problem on shapes captured by the app extension in Photoshop Desktop.

Looks like it's fixed in the just released Photoshop 2024 25.5.1 update.

I'm experiencing this issue as well, with newer versions. I am not able to upgrade to the newest as my hardware does not support it. But this is an irritating bug that I was hoping to find a fix for!

It's still a bug in the very latest Photoshop 2025 (ps ver 26.5), so updating to the newest Photoshop version wouldn't make any difference as far as this particular issue is concerned.

You can install Photoshop 2024 (ps ver 25.12.2 ) which doesn't seem to have this bug.

Looks like the bug was fixed for a few update releases and now it's back in 25.7

Other than going back to 25.6, we'll have wait for a fix in the next photoshop update release.

Yes, just downloaded the latest release.  It works now.  With the more frequent software updates come unintended bugs but it also has its upside, the bugs discovered are also fixed much faster.  👍
