Problem parsing the JPEG data

Im using photoshop 2017 on mac
Im getting this error when I open jpeg files "Could not complete your request because of a problem parsing the JPEG data"
I couldn't find any fix for this error for macs.

Please let me know how to fix it.

    Many times you can open jpegs with parsing errors in camera raw, then open in photoshop.

    On the mac side in photoshop go to File>Open, click on your jpeg in finder, click on Options, change the Format to Camera Raw, then click Open.

    Your jpeg should open in Camera Raw.

    Click Open Image to have the image open in photoshop.
