Problems with Graphic Card.

Recently upgraded to Photoshop 2020. Started crashing and Adobe "blames" Graphic device. It is true that if checking off graphic device, it stop crashing, but then other features do not work. I check the device it is up to date and the WIndows version is up to date too. Does anyone have a clue?

Photoshop 2020 has been updated to v 21.0.1, that may help. Windows has been updated to 1909 just a few days ago. I'm running it offf an older Dell laptop using the HD 4000 graphics. So see if the updates help.

If neither work, then it's best to use CC 2019 As a home user volunteering in these forums I don't want to suggest anything I'm not sure of.

I did try photoshop with the latest windows. Still the same. So reverted back to PS 2019

Have you tried checking on "legacy composting" ? under Preferences > Performance?

Tamping down the Drawing Mode to Normal or Basic may help if you can't get better drivers.

Restart Photoshop after making these adjustments.

Dear Gener7,

Thanx Gener7. Tried that too and PS 2020 still crashes. I even succeded updating the Graphic card. Same thing. Still I have the feelilng that it is the PS version. With PS 2019, never had problems with the graphic card.

Any ideas out of the box 🙂
