Program Error Diagnostic Plugin feedback

Frustrated by Program Errors in Photoshop? We can help!

First, try the troubleshooting suggestions listed in the Program Errors when opening or saving files

 

Next, if after following the steps above and you're still encountering Program Errors:

  1. Follow the instructions to install the Program Error Diagnostic Plugin
  2. Open Photoshop and enable the Photoshop User Diagnostics option provided in the Plugins menu
  3. Reproduce the Program Error, then click OK to dismiss the Program Error dialog (This then copies the detailed error text to your clipboard)
  4. Click the blue Reply button on this post and paste the Program Error clipboard contents into this community thread

 

Doing this will assist our Engineering team's investigations so these Program Errors can be resolved.

    I have tried EVERYTHING! This program is unusable now! I get error messages when I open a file, when I try to use shortcut keys, when I try to edit...pretty much I just see the image but can't do anything with it. 

     

    I will post the error code I get from the diag tool (not much) but am BEGGING you guys to PLEASE DO SOMETHING TO FIX THIS!!!!!!!

    Photoshop opens OK. but when I try to create a new blank background layer . The layer is created plus an error message. However none of the tools work. For instance the text tool will not work. clicking on it will produce a symbol and then the application closes down. I have tried reinstalling the programme with a clean install but with the same results. The problem started a couple of days ago. Thankfully my surface book photoshop is OK. Both have  the latest update. Both computers use the windows 10 operating system. I have tried all the repair options to no avail. I tried to paste the clipboard from the diagnostics but it was not working. My nane is Justin Goodwin. E-mail justin.goodwin@sky.com

    Try uninstalling photoshop from the creative cloud app and when it asks if you want to keep your preferences, say no. Then reinstall it, worked for me and one other

      Can't edit my preferences (freshly installed v22.3, after update ruined much), this is what your diagnostic tool produces:

      I'm having the same issue, program error. It happens when I try to open a photoshop file, create a photoshp file, or in general just try to use Photshop. This just started happening, I don't know what has changed since the last time I used Photoshop about a week ago. I did un-install and re-install the program, but have the same issue. I'm running Big Sur on a MacBook Pro 15 inch, 2019 laptop.

      SOLVED: For me at least. May be a small pain in the butt for people who have Preferences, but I Un-installed it through CC and opted to remove the preferences. When I tried this before I opted to keep them as I like the set up I had. After this is worked, no issues yet, I can open any file, graphics look good, can save and close the program.

      I have tried everything on this troubleshooting list to the best of my ability, and honestly too much time waisted considering all I want to do is get some work done on this program I pay $25 a month for the privelage of using! Ive been using Fresco instead which in my opinion does not even shine a light to a lot of other drawing apps I've used that are moneybags cheaper (cough*procreate*cough) the only thing going for it, is that I can use it on my computer. 

       

      Basically what I'm getting at here is, why haven't I been able to find a solution to a problem that is a month old?????

      (jee...I think my money would be better spent elsewhere...)
