Progress bar stuck on screen when opening image from Lightroom

I have an issue that has only started since the last 2 updates (to the current version).

When selecting "Open image in Photoshop" is used from lightroom the progress bar is left on the screen in photoshop even though the image has been transfered. Although you can just click withinn photoshop to move it to the back it is still a pain that never happened before.
Anyone else having this or worked out a solution ?

For me, using MacOS 10.15.7 on an old i7 iMac "late 2012" with 32 GB RAM, Lightroom Classic 10.2 and Photoshop 22.3.0, the issue seems to be solved.

As far as I remember, I did not make any changes to the settings of either application.

Come on Adobe, [removed]! This has been an issue for 5 MONTHS! You will lose more and more subscribers if you continue on this path of unresponsiveness. A simple acknowledgement that you're aware of the problem and working on a fix would go a long way. But silence?? If I owned Adobe stock I'd be selling it.

They're not going to fix this.   7 pages of thread and how many months of problems?  Still going on both my machines.  Pretty ridiculous really.

Just adding myself to the long list of Adobe users experiencing the problem with the Progres bar window remaining open and not being able to cancel it. Using PS 22.1.0 on a iMac.

It's been months and I still have this problem.  I also have the issue where Opening as Layers (from LR to PS) doesn't work most of the time. You get two separate images and an odd blank layer.

I'm fed-up with the goons at Adobe continuing to roll out pointless new features/gimmicks while leaving these obvious issues unresolved.

It's total contempt.

Hi there,

We're sorry for the trouble. Let us know the exact version of Photoshop and Lightroom you are using now? Also, are you seeing this problem only while openings files from Lightroom to Photoshop? Check the Creative Cloud Desktop and see the Adobe apps are updated?

Thanks,

Mohit

Hi Mohit, in my case, it's when I'm using both PS and LR, both of which are fully up to date. The only way to get rid of the progress bar is to relaunch PS. I've also noticed that the progress bar appears when the RAM on my iMac is almost fully utilised. (All 32GB).

As you can see from the thread, this issue has been going on for some time now and you're the first official Adobe employee to acknowledge this problem. Hope you can fix it!

Regards, Roger. (Periclix)

Whenever PS opens a file - usually from LR - it leaves a useless progress
bar on screen. It cannot be cancelled, only hidden behind the workspace.

PS also tends to screw up LR to PS as Layers. PS opens two independent
windows/images and the Background layer gets corrupted.

This has been going on for years/many updates, as indicated by the threads
in your forum.

Why does Adobe continue to ignore chronic bug reports like this?

PS 22.2.0
LR 1011 release, Build [202101041610-8c69aa4e]
Camera RAW 13.1

Jay

PS: Also, on Retina Macbooks the cursor is impossible to see. One has to
push the Option key to reveal it. Please consider adding a more effective
cursor strategy for screen resolutions like Retina.

Thank you

Hi Mohit,

I have the same issue as well. I have restarted PS many times and the bar still appears. All CC apps are up to date.

This issue has persisted for months.

In addition, sometimes the image never opens and I have to go back to LR and do it again.

This can happen several times and frequently requires a restart of PS.

Super unimpressive.

This 'issue' has subsided for me for a while; however, I am now getting the help window, that pops up for tools, lingering on the screen - like the progress bar we're all 'p*ssed' about.

For me, it seems to have traded one problem for another, with the added bonus of scrolling being erratic and persistent: if I scroll in one directin, it continues to scroll (move the image) in that direction until I add an opposing scroll or drag. So annoying!!!

Same issue here. Stuck progress bar and help wind pop ups for tools. Running latest versions of both Lightroom Classic and Photoshop. Solved the hep window pop ups by turning off Use Rich Tooltips in Photoshop CC>Preferences>Tools (mac) or Edit>Preferences>Tools (windows).
