psd file locked

I installed the Photoshop Beta to try out the remove tool. After UNISTALLING the photoshop beta via the Creative Cloud Desktop app, I am now unable to open psd files getting the following error message

Could not open "xxx.psd" because the file is locked, you do not have the necessary access permissions, or another program is using the file. Use the 'Properties' command in the Windows Explorer to unlock the file.

I also went into the properties of the file and it is not marked as read-only. This happens with every psd file that I try to open.

How do I fix this issue and unlock the psd files?
