"Could not complete your request because there is not enough memory (RAM)"

I'm barely able to use Photoshop lately due to the continuous message "Could not complete your request because there is not enough memory (RAM)" for just about everything I try to do.

I just tried a workaround mentioned in this thread: https://community.adobe.com/t5/photoshop-ecosystem-discussions/not-enough-memory-ram-and-other-error...
(The 'end task for Dynamic Link Manager' workaround.)

And then I was able to do one of the tasks that had just caused the not enough RAM message. So it looks like I'll need to do that until this gets fixed.

But while I was in Task Manager, I noticed something odd.

Why are MS Edge processes appearing under the Photoshop dropdown?

Could this be anything to do with the RAM error message?

They aren't Edge processes but web view processes, used to show windows containing HTML graphics (don't worry about the details, it's normal).

Please answer all the following questions/requests

1. How much RAM do you have?

2. How much free disk space do you have on your system disk, and your scratch disk (if different)?

3. What is your specific version of Photoshop (not latest)?

4. Please show a screen shot of your Photoshop memory preferences, and scratch disk preferences.

5. What is the size of your current image in pixels (check image Image > Image size, perhaps a screen shot) and number of layers.

5. Most recent stats that bring up the RAM error (it's doing it for pretty much any image, and also when trying to paint, erase, etc):
Opening a Blank Document Preset: 2000 pixel grid, 2000 x 2000 px @ 300 dpi
Trying to bring in an image which is 1920 x 881 pixels, 96 dpi ( just 240 KB ).

Never let Photoshop use 100% of RAM, the recommended is 70%, you need RAM for the OS and other applications

Also try changing the Cache Levels and Cache Tile Size to there defaults of 4 and 1024K

Thanks, but those are all things I changed in a futile effort to fix the problems, so I just reversed them again, and was not surprised when it made no difference to the issues.
