"Enable Floating Document Window Docking" preference randomly unresponsive

After resetting preferences today and then unchecking "Enable Floating Document Window Docking" I'm still randomly (more often than not) getting the response as if it were checked.. the files open as a miniscule dot at the top left corner of the workspace.. and then again sometimes they open fine.. both responses occurring within seconds of each other with that preference checked off the entire time.

Hi @chad17509998t292, instead of resetting, let's try this...

 

Let's make sure we're in a default state and there are no stale settings somewhere: 

Restore your preferences using this manual method:  

https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/using/preferences.html#Manually  

Does it work correctly? 

If that doesn't solve it, you can quit Photoshop and put the Settings folder back. 

 

 

It may help if we could see your Photoshop System Info. Launch Photoshop, and select Help >System Info...and copy/paste the text in a reply.

Well Cory, it's back to it's old tricks again.. vascillating between opening up as a spec in the top left corner and opening at normal size 😞

Try Photoshop's  Window menu and at the bottom of this menu uncheck "Application Frame".

This should show the Desktop.

    Hi @chad17509998t292, instead of resetting, let's try this...

     

    Let's make sure we're in a default state and there are no stale settings somewhere: 

    Restore your preferences using this manual method:  

    https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/using/preferences.html#Manually  

    Does it work correctly? 

    If that doesn't solve it, you can quit Photoshop and put the Settings folder back. 

     

     

    It may help if we could see your Photoshop System Info. Launch Photoshop, and select Help >System Info...and copy/paste the text in a reply.
