Can you tell us which Adobe app you are using so we can move your post to the proper forum?

in the future, to find the best place to post your message, use the list here, https://community.adobe.com/

p.s. i don't think the adobe website, and forums in particular, are easy to navigate, so don't spend a lot of time searching that forum list. do your best and we'll move the post (like this one has already been moved) if it helps you get responses.

I think kglad's answer might be confusing. He moved your post to Photoshop for you. Moving posts to the proper forum is one of our tasks and we don't expect those who are new to the forums to know their way around. Your post is in the best place now.

I'm tagging @Trevor.Dennis who might be able to answer this for you.

I had to sort by Linear View to see this was a reply to me. I didn't combine any posts and am not sure why you think I did? Your post was moved to the Photoshop forum (which is the proper place for it), but not by me.

Please type @ and choose a name (or just type one) in so we know who you are addressing.

@Kyle33024312xg2p what are your brush settings in Photoshop Brushes Panel - specifically the Smoothing setting?

Smoothing is more of a bandaid to slightly fix the issue. The issue is still there, smoothing just lessens the effects of the issue. Nice try though.

@Kyle33024312xg2p first off no need to be rude.

Smoothing has a direct impact on brush strokes in Photoshop and is not a "band-aid".

You should also check the Spacing setting under Brush Dynamics. Top is default. Bottom is set to 1%.

It's not an issue of spacing or resolution and smoothing does not solve the issue. Thank you Kevin.

I don't use a Wacom tablet, but as I understand it, your issue is that resetting the Tip Feel control solves the issue for you, but only for a few minutes. If that correct?

What do you set the control to, and what does setting does it return when things go jaggy?

"your issue is that resetting the Tip Feel control solves the issue for you, but only for a few minutes"

That is correct. I set the Tip Feel control from the middle to soft and then back to the middle. This provides a temporary fix but the issue comes back fairly quickly. It should be worth mentioning that the issue seems to come back most frequently when I am drawing very small lines. Screenshot 2023-10-18 233338.jpg

I would be looking at the API you are using rather than worrying about smoothing.  So are you using Wintab or Windows Ink?  Whichever one it is, try the other one.  Same thing with the WACOM driver

I also see you are using Windows, so I would 100% be trying Lazy Nezumpi Pro if you aren't already.   It's the best $30 you'll ever spend on a Photoshop add-on (if you are using a tablet and the Windows operating system).

Try those two things and let us know how you get on.

Have a read through the LNP setup page.  It's probably the best aid to getting tablets to work nicely anywhere on the web.

Hi, Does this setting change when using other software?

Did you try contacting Wacom, as I do not think that Photoshop can change the setting of a driver?
Is it the only setting that gets reset?
Did you look/search if there is a shortcut/movement that is used to reset that very setting?

@Kyle33024312xg2p Odd - I was able to replicate your exact issue with my Wacom Intuos and resolve by adjusting the spacing to 1%. If you have that set to 1% and you're still seeing jagged edges - my next focus would be on the input itself with your tablet.

If you constantly have to reset the Wacom system settings to resolve - you may need to check your Windows Ink settings to make sure they are not conflicting.

Check the properties under Mapping and uncheck "Use Windows Ink".

With Windows Ink turned off, you need to use the Wintab line in PSuserConfig

Use notepad to create a txt file with the line: UseSystemStylus 0

 Save it as PSuserConfig.txt

Place the file in the following folder

C:\Users\[Your User Name]\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop 2024

I am not sure if this is going to help, because Windows Ink has been the most reliable API for several years now, but you have to try it.
