Question

"quick export as jpg" randomly exports uncropped image

Hi - I'm processing a lot of scanned pages - separating the original scan files that have images for two pages into two separate files that each represent one page.

After I crop the left hand side of the image, I "quick export as jpg," paste in / complete a file name, save the file, then undo to get the whole file back and crop the right hand side, repeating the process.

Sometimes - I have no idea why - Photoshop exports the uncropped version of the file. Only on the left hand side file, which is the one I always do first. The right hand side file is always cropped correctly. This happens about 20% of the time.

The problem is not repeatable - when I reprocess the files that had a problem, they always turn out correctly the second time.

Any ideas?

Driving me craaazy.

I solved my problems with quick export by turning off all the Creative Cloud features I could find. I don't even use the "cloud" so I didn't realize they were turned on by default.

    - open the Creative Cloud app

    - click the 3 dots to the right of the anon face icon on the upper right

    - choose preferences

    - choose Creative Cloud

    - choose Files

    - uncheck the Creative Cloud Sync box

    - curse under your breath at the "cloud" trend and all the hassle it brings, go back to work

update - though this made the problem better it's not completely solved

It seems to me your work flow could be improved. Select the left side page Copy Paste like Ctrl+j then target the background select the right hand page Copy Paste turn the background layer off. Arrange the left and right layers crop and save.

sorry but that isn't an improvement

there are thousands of images - adding extra steps for each image is the last thing I want to do

    cheers

I guess I do not understands the steps you wrote then.  It seems like you were creating files undo  create an additional file opening the files and paste in the created files.

If you have both left and right pages in a single image layer. You can select the left page and create document from the selection. A new document will open in Photoshop.  You can then select the right page and open the right page in a new document.

I do not seem to know what you are trying to end up with.
