"Use graphics processor" greyed out

Hi all, when I go into settings and try to check "use graphics processor", it's greyed out. It's been fine the last few days, I think the only thing I did in between it working and the day it stopped working was download malwarebytes and restart my computer.

-Photoshop is up to date -graphics card driver is up to date

I went into the NVIDIA settings to make sure PS was using the right graphics card, I've reinstalled my graphics card drivers (even the display adapter itself) and I've done that "useoldGPU" edit in the registry and set it to 1.

Still, everything is greyed out. I need muh scrubby zoom, someone please help..

You installed the video card driver from the NVIDEA site?

What operating system are you using? If Windows, check update history and look for times that correlate with the start of the problem. Major Windows updates can be particularly problematic, arbitrarily installing generic drivers over drivers that were working just fine.

Try opening Photoshop while holding down the Shift key, which will force it to ignore all third party plugins and extensions.

If stuck, open Photoshop and go Help > System Info > Copy and paste here.

I installed the driver straight from the Geforce experience application.

I'm using windows, and in the past have had problems with the updates- just looked at the recent updates and there were no major ones.

Only recent thing was 2 windows defender antivirus updates in the past day but I'm not sure if those have anything to do with it??

Tried opening using shift, still not working correctly. :/

I should probably also note that yesterday as well as right now, when I restart my computer it crashes right away with the error fltmgr_file_system...

I'm just going to reset my computer, hopefully this fixes the problem! Probably should've done this earlier.

i got the same problem where "Use Graphics Processor" was greyed out. Apparently you only have to add Adobe Photoshop to "Games" > SCAN LOCATION
