Reducing Nodes on a Path Created by a Selection?

I made a new white layer, selected all, then ran the Render>Clouds filter.

I did Select>Color Range>Midtones which created a Selection on the layer.

I went to the Paths tab and created a Work Path from the Selection.

The resulting Work Path has a lot of nodes.

Question 1:

Is there a "thin" nodes or reduce nodes while in this stage?

Related Question 2:

It seems I saw a dialog box somewhere that lets me define how exact or loose the Paths Tab uses to establish the number of points created. I can't find it now?

Any help would be appreciated.

That's a good thing because I know just what you're taking about! The first time I did that make path thing, I nearly died when I saw it.

Goodness!  I didn't even know that option existed.  Photoshop still does a fairly pants job of making  paths out of selections.
