Resolution for printing on pouches...

Hi...

What is the resolution required for printing on those disposable sample pouches of 10gm / 20gm? The medium would be, I believe but am not sure, plastic and the printing process would be gravure. Would 150ppi  be good enough?

TIA,

Gravure for plastic? Gravure is VERY high volume because setup is $$$$. Gravure can print at high resolution but plastic is more commonly printed flexo. Is this one color or more? Have you talked to the printer? Is this small text or what sort of content?

It's for those sample packs - 10/20gm weight at 10/20c, 10/20p, etc. Four colour printing. Beyond that no one really has a clue... everyone, including the client, is fishing in the dark. (Not even sure about the gravure printing. It was a suggestion.) Not possible to speak with the printer either... 😞  Hence my post here for some advice / leads / suggestions.

Cheers...

You will have to talk to the printer. I seriously doubt that anyone will use gravure for this.
The printer will need to let you know how to set the job up including what kind of line screens and resolution to use. It will probably be flexo.

To be clear- you HAVE TO talk to the printer.
