P: When saving to Photoshop EPS, changing ME text orientation grays out "Include Vector Data" option

Photoshop 2022 is graying out the "Include Vector Data" option when saving to Photoshop EPS and it turns out choosing the RTL paragraph option in the Paragraph Panel under ME options, something that doesn't happen in PS 2020, causes this bug. MacOS version of Photoshop so far is affected.

Hey ! I am trying to save a file in EPS format, but the 'include vector data' option is grayed out. Nothing seems to work, any idea how to save in EPS and include the vector data?

Hi there,

Welcome to the Adobe Community!

Only 8bit EPS are supported to save via Photoshop. Which Photoshop version do you have installed? Take a look at the following article for more info: https://adobe.ly/3AUJPQ8

Let us know how it goes.

Thanks,

Mohit

Hi All.

I've been saving photoshop EPSs with type as vector to be opened in Illustrator since version 2,5.

There have been toimes when this optin was grayed out.

That was because the type had a faux bold stle applied to it.

Discarding that style fixed it.

Now, the latest version of photoshop has the option permanently grayed out.

Nothing fixes it.

I tyrashed the prefs, tried on another mac. No dice.

Went back to Photoshop 2021, and.......it works!!!!

Looks like Adobe messed up really big time on this one.

Anyone have any insight?

Much appreciated. Thanx.

I opened a new file, added type and saved it as a Photoshop EPS on my Mid 2012 MBP running Catalina 10.15.7 and the latest 2022 Photoshop and Illustrator. So it seems to work. Created the eps in Photoshop and it opens in Illustrator.

yup

Okay Folks, I think I figured this out.

I'm running Adobe CC North American with Middle Eastern features.

If I go to the paragraph pallete and switch the paragraph orientation from rtl to ltr, "include vector data" magically reappears.

If I switch it back to rtl, it's geayed out again.

This never happened in previous versions.

So, it seems, Adobe broke another one.
