Save is greyed ou in Adobe Photoshop CC 2018

The save option is greyed out so anytime a user tries to save a file they have to save as. This is a file that already existed before hence I don't see the reason why we need to do a save as. What might be the issue for this?

      If you did not make any change to the file, save will be greyed out.

      If you for example use the cursor key to nudge a lyer up, and then nudge back down to the exact same position, the save should be available. If not you have a technical issue, and we need to know if you have any illustrator plugins, and what your exact OS & Phothsop versions are.

      Did you make any changes in the file? If there are no changes, the Save function is always greyed out.
