Save/Open File Dialog Boxes are Tiny on Mac OS

Hi there,
Ever since I upgraded to Mac OS Big Sur, I am finding that my Adobe apps refuse to remember what size window the file dialoge boxes are.  Every single time I try to open or place a file in Photoshop, InDesign, etc, the file dialoge box is so small that I have to manually enlarge it to see my files.  I can only see a few rows of files the way that the boxes open.  This is driving me crazy!  Is this happening to no one else?

Adobe did not fix the problem of the small Open/Save dialog boxes, because it was not an Adobe problem to fix.

 

This problem has been widely reported across multiple Mac applications in macOS 11.1 Big Sur. But this week Apple released macOS 11.2, and there are reports that it fixes this problem (see the first reader comment after the end of this article: Apple releases macOS Big Sur 11.2 with fixes for Bluetooth, external display issues, more).

 

So try making sure macOS is updated to 11.2, and if the Open/Save dialog boxes start working normally again, then this was definitely an Apple bug that Apple needed to fix.

When my Photoshop just crashed (which is happening more than ever... the 2021 version I have is riddled with crashes) this popped up.  I can't even see a folder that the application wants to save into.  

 

Does Adobe ever look at these forums?

Yea, this really needs to be addressed. It is hte same problem in InDesign — when you package a file from there, you can't even see any of your files/folders, the window is that small.  Every time.

    Nope! My problem is the same. Yes, it also drives me crazy cause I use it a lot during my work sessions.
