Thanks to @DeanUtian for stepping up and bringing us last weekend's challenge. After his warm beach scene I thought we might need to cool off so I bring you this mountain range modelled in World Creator, textured using Adobe Substance, and rendered in Blender 3D.

What will you do with it?

The “rules”:

  • Anything goes, as long as it meets the forum rules on decency, copyright etc.
  • Anyone, and everyone, is welcome to have a go, whether you are a complete beginner or a Photoshop expert.
  • There are no prizes apart from the chance to practice, show off, or bring a bit of humour and fun. Don't be shy, join in and have a go!

To download the image below at 3840 x 2160 pixels, with an embedded ICC colour profile (sRGB), hover over the image and click on the circle with the arrows at the top right. Then, when the image opens in its own window, right click and choose “Save Image As/Save Target As” (or similar depending on your browser).

When posting back your image – please use the Blue reply button in this first post. If posting a comment on someone else’s entry then please use the grey reply button next to their image post.

Have fun.

Dave

Looking at my image again, some people may like the transformation. It looks like it could now be a site for copper mining. 🙂

Soon the hikers will need to make a choice between reaching the summit or having a Guinness.

Another amazing render Dave.  It reminded me of those pictures of climbers queueing to summit Everest. Ed Hillary left that flag there when he and sherpa tenzing made the first assent in 1953.  It was not quite so crowded back then.

+ 1 that this is another amazing render, Dave!

Trevor, you are spot on with the lines to summit Everest these days, but I'm not so sure that New Zealander Hillary flew the NZ flag when he summited with Norgay. Wasn't the Union Jack the first to be raised, followed by the United Nations and Nepalese flags?

Bernie Sanders is from the North of the U.S., so he knows how to stay warm with his one and only Winter coat and the mittens sent to him from an admiring constituent.

Jane, I think I saw more mentions of Bernie's mittens in the Inauguration news than anything.  I expect he was wearing thermal undies beneath that suite and that his face mask was made of Thinsulate.   We use a Merino Possum mix for the ultimate in warmth and softness in our garments.  Once you have worn Merino Possum jumper you can't bare going back to itchy wool.

Trevor, there have been so many stories about the mittens and the woman who made them and photos of Bernie from years ago where he is wearing the very same coat, which made me think about my own winter hiking jackets, some of which are 20, 30, and even 40 years old and they're fine. It's funny how fast this photo has become a viral meme! 😊 Does Merino Possum keep you warm when it gets wet like wool and fleece do?
