Hi
Thanks to all who took part in our piggy bank challenge. There were some great ideas and images.
For this week, I've set a scene for you. 'Twas a dark and misty night in old London town....... but what happened next?
The “rules”:
* Anything goes, as long as it meets the forum rules on decency, copyright etc
* Anyone, and everyone, is welcome to have a go, whether you are a complete beginner or a Photoshop expert. This is not just for our forum "regulars".
* There are no prizes apart from the chance to practice, show off, or bring a bit of humour and fun. Don't be shy, join in and have a go!
* The starter image is made available for you to use in this forum challenge only.
To download the image below at full size, hover over the image and click on the circle with the arrows at the top right. Then, when the image opens in its own window, right click and choose “Save Image As/Save Target As” (or similar depending on your browser).
When posting back your image – please use the blue reply button in this first post. If posting a comment on someone else’s entry then please use the grey reply button next to their image post.
Have fun
Dave

I actually remembered this gag from an Ogri cartoon (from Paul Sample) in Bike magazine from way way back. I can't find the particular cartoon strip that inspired me. I wonder if there are any aging Brit bikers who remember Ogri? 🙂 Ged? I don't think you are old enough
I am not 100% sure, but I think it was Bike magazine that would have been of interest to the content creators who use these forums beause they had some of the worst publishing practices I have ever seen. This is way too far back for me to find examples, so I have mocked this up, but it is typical of the colour combinations they used. I might be pushing the point a bit, but honestly, not by much.

Dean, a lot of the animations I use (like this one) I find via Google and overlay. If you add 'transparent background' and are lucky, you might find something that needs no work. The tricky ones have multiple moving elements, as you have to manually sync layers to frames for all but the first element, that you usually do with 'make frames from layers'.

Been away for a while. Good to be back.
Just played with a bit of this setting, a bit of that.

I feel like I'd like to see the moon in the background to fit with the atmosphere Dean. Steve Caplin has a good night for day tutorial that this reminded me of. I can't find it now, but he has a different on on YouTube Oh dear. Steve has some excellent tutorials and I can hardly find any of them now. Not even on LinkedIn Learning. Does't anyone know where he lives nowadays? I'll try his Cheating at Photoshop site, but I don't remember that having a lot videos.

I found Steve's 2 Minute Photoshop YouTube channel

I'll have a look at Nigh-Day video and will look at the moon for my image.

Hi JEL and welcome to SFTW.
I do like the illustrative effect on your image. It reminds me of a Christmas card.
