Hi,
Our last challenge brought in some very creative ideas and images.
This week, we have the lighthouse on the pier at Whitby, on the north east coast of England. What will you do with it? Will you light it up, turn it into something new, or something else entirely?
The “rules”:
* Use the starter image as at least part of your own image entry.
* Anything goes, as long as it meets the forum rules on decency, copyright etc
* Anyone, and everyone, is welcome to have a go, whether you are a complete beginner or a Photoshop expert. This is not just for our forum "regulars".
* There are no prizes apart from the chance to practice, show off, or bring a bit of humour and fun. Don't be shy, join in and have a go!
* The starter image is made available for you to use in this forum challenge only. Sorry to emphasise this, but the image is not for use elsewhere.
To download the image below, hover over the image and click on the circle with the arrows at the top right.
Then, when the image opens in its own window, right click and choose “Save Image As/Save Target As” (or similar depending on your browser).
When posting back your image – please use the blue reply button in this first post. If posting a comment on someone else’s entry then please use the grey reply button next to their image post.
Have fun.
Dave

@J E L Haha, not really. I did the first ornament in 2018 and simply reused that image to add the second one. Maybe in five more years Dave will photograph a third lighthouse for us? Or create a render?
@Monika Gause I hope not, but I'm sure we'll see Christmas decorations all too soon 🙁
@davescm Thank you! 😊

@jane-e, I'm always the last one to drag out the Christmas boxes, so I've turned it into a Christmas Eve (or Day) event instead, lol. I notice the Halloween decorations showed up in the stores two weeks ago, sigh. As if buying candy corn now is going to last.

@J E L My daughter celebrates with her family on the solstice and does not have any decorations, then they come to my house for Christmas. My grandchildren LOVE to decorate for Christmas, so I get a live tree that they set up and we decorate together. There are two lighthouse ornaments on it!

The old Whitby coast serpent! That should keep the kids off the pier!

What if the lighthouse was the light?

A beautiful job Myra, and I love the effects. The rays look a touch too fine to be render fibers and polar coordinates, but I am not sure how else you'd do them?

Thank you so much! 🙂
The rays were an Adobe Stock freebie:
I rotated it and added a blend mode.
