Something for the Weekend - Part 232 - Through the Mill!

Hi,
We had some great entries to our last, 'Cutting Edge' challenge. Thanks to all who took the time to create those images.

This week we are off to the River Wear at Durham, where we find this old fulling mill. Fulling is a step in the process of making woollen cloth. The building dates back to the 17th century although there are records of a watermill at the location even before that. In 1833 it became a museum and part of the university of Durham. It is a timeless and tranquil scene. What can you do to liven it up?

The “rules”:

  • Use the starter image as at least part of your own image entry.
  • Anything goes, as long as it meets the forum rules on decency, copyright, etc.
  • Anyone, and everyone, is welcome to have a go, whether you are a complete beginner or a Photoshop expert. This is not just for our forum “regulars”.
  • There are no prizes apart from the chance to practice, show off your skills, or bring a bit of humor and fun. Don't be shy, join in and have a go!
  • The starter image is made available for you to use in this forum challenge only.

To download the starter image, hover over the image and click on the circle with the arrows at the top right. Then, when the image opens in its own window, right click and choose “Save Image As/Save Target As” (or similar depending on your browser).

When posting back your image — please use the blue reply button in this first post and use the 'Insert Photos' icon at the top of the reply box. If posting a comment on someone else’s entry, then please use the grey reply button next to their image post.

Have fun!

Dave

Welcome to SFTW Freddy.  I've used the image widget to embed your image into the post to make it easier for others to see.
I like the dragon, which would liven up the area! It could use a little reflection though. 🙂

Thanks for the feedback Dave. I did brush in some subtle shadows, but felt something was missing. You nailed it.... reflection would make it so much better. I will upload V2 soon.

This is a fun challenge!  I added a few things using the Generative expand feature.

I wonder who is hunting who. Is the bear hunting the jellyfish, or is it the other way around. Or could the giant strawberry be after them both. 🙂

It's that sneaky strawberry. That's causing the mischief

I like it, the river wear has indeed frozen solid, although not very often. I've never seen polar bears skating there though! 🙂

Keeping the colour in the brickwork helps it to stand out as the main subject, Bob. 🙂

This challenge was a lot of fun. All of my graphics came from Adobe Stock.
